I have just started realizing that I am having anxiety more and more often (it runs in the family), the doctor has me on some medicine to help me sleep better. It's nothing serious, but it is a little unnerving. I don't pretend to know what you were going through, I still can't wrap my head around mental illness, it pretty much scares the living heck out of me. So with your help I want to learn more. Good luck this year. I think it's great that you are finding new things to love and do. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he gave you your wonderful family. Love you all!Amy Sorensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03850903386988692826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6748735929562976298.post-3323177331348614282012-01-06T07:53:30.823-08:002012-01-06T07:53:30.823-08:00Heather THANK YOU for sharing this! When this happened in my family it was still in those days you talked about when there wasn't great help. There was such a stigma attached to it and I was always told those people were "crazy." That word makes me more than furious every time I hear it now. I love that you are taking your experiences and being there for other people. This is such a real thing and those who go through it are so much stronger than anybody even realizes. You have to have such amazing character and strength to come back from something so difficult. This is why I loved studying psychology. I understand now how the brain works and what happens to people and how very much it is NOT their fault or them being weak. I love you so much, Heather. I can't imagine what you have gone through...I'm sorry I didn't do anything to help. Mental illness is just that...a true illness that is REAL. The more people talk about it the less stigma will be attached to it and hopefully more people will follow your amazing example of courage. I love you and your family SO much, even though we don't see you often you are often in our hearts and prayers.Toniihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05253171633800258452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6748735929562976298.post-46125904650344681562012-01-05T22:33:38.771-08:002012-01-05T22:33:38.771-08:00Thanks for sharing, I always favor honesty over no...Thanks for sharing, I always favor honesty over not and sometimes that gets me in trouble but that is how it goes. Things people can't see or don't "have" make it hard for people to understand, similar to Stac and how people react to her migraines. They just don't get it, which makes it hard to feel like people understand. God speed on your journey in 2012.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05442856640346613550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6748735929562976298.post-43724335548961022512012-01-05T20:36:25.458-08:002012-01-05T20:36:25.458-08:00I just have three words for you...I love you. :) ...I just have three words for you...I love you. :) Oh wait...maybe three more...You're my hero!!!! I know my bouts with depression have made me feel so similar to what you describe although not to the same degree as you felt. I am grateful that I have grown from each experience and can share my experience with others to give them hope when they struggle, and that I can empathize better now with those who struggle. Anyway, thanyou for sharing your hope with me. I only wish there was something I could do to help you more. Luv u!Sherihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10932885860538126458noreply@blogger.com
